Change the Android Voice
If you don't like the current voice on Android when it gives directions or reads email, you can change it. This is possible with built-in controls.
Steps
- Hit "System Settings" in the Android menu to get started with changing the voice.
- Select "Language & Input."
- Select "Text-to-speech output" towards the bottom of the screen under "Speech."
- Hit the gear icon next to the "Google text to speech" option. You can also click "Listen to an example" to play the current voice.
- Click on "Language" in the settings screen.
- Select a language that comes up, including accents like "English (United Kingdom)" to change the voice on Android.
Tips
- You can also change the settings regarding the speed of the voice as well as the volume.
