Steps
- Open your phone's menu with the menu button. Select "System Settings."
- Scroll down towards the bottom of the menu.
- Select the "About phone" option.
- Check the number under "Android version." The three numbers listed there (for example: "4.0.4") indicate your phone's version.
Tips
- You can also check your version online from your phone or tablet's web browser. Go to What is my Android version? to see the details.
- The first two digits of your Android version often have a name for them. For example, Android 4.0 is called "Ice Cream Sandwich."
- This will give you mostly the same information as checking your phone settings, however with this method you can also check whether your current browser settings identify your device as Android. Sometimes you may want to have your browser configured in "Desktop" mode to avoid receiving mobile versions of websites.
Warnings
- The version of your phone can change during major updates.
