Choose the Right Hair Highlights

Here are a couple of tips that will help you be able to choose the right color of highlights for your hair color, skin tones, and other factors!

Consider your own hair coloring. Not just the blonde, brunette, or redhead categories. Consider if your hair is a light brown, or a dark auburn. Know your hair color!
Now start thinking about the highlight color. If you want a dramatic look, try opposites. For example, if you have dark brown hair, try platinum blonde highlights. But if you want something natural, go for a few shades lighter than your natural hair color. Or try a variety of highlights: a brunette with blonde, and a lighter shade of brown highlights all through your hair will have a very nice effect.
Think over whether you're experienced with at home hair coloring. If you're not, of have some doubts, then go to a salon or hair stylist.

Try not to get overly dramatic highlights. Unless you really do want a dramatic appearance, choose a highlight color that goes with your hair color, or else it will look skunky and unappealing.
