Clear Your Browser's Cache on an iPhone

This article teaches you how to delete your search history, saved passwords, and other stored data from your iPhone's browser.

Steps

Safari

  1. Open your iPhone's Settings. This is a grey app with gears that's likely on your iPhone's Home screen.
  2. Scroll down and tap Safari. It's about a third of the way down the "Settings" page.
  3. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data. This button is near the bottom of the "Safari" page.
  4. Tap Clear History and Data. It's at the bottom of the screen. Doing so will delete your search history, saved form data, and cached files from Safari.

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome. It's a white app with a red, green, yellow, and blue shaped sphere inside.
  2. Tap . It's in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings. This option is near the bottom of the drop-down menu.
  4. Tap Privacy. It's near the bottom of the page.
  5. Tap Clear Browsing Data. You'll see it at the bottom of the group of options on this page.
  6. Tap Clear Browsing Data. It's at the bottom of the group of options here.
    • If any options on this page don't have a checkmark next to them, tap them to select them for cache-clearing.
  7. Tap Clear Browsing Data when prompted. It'll appear as a pop-up window. Doing so will clear your browser's history, saved form data and passwords, and cached images.

Dolphin

  1. Open Dolphin. It's a green app with the white silhouette of a dolphin on the front.
  2. Tap . It's at the bottom of the screen, to the right of the house icon.
  3. Tap Settings. This option is in the bottom-left corner of the pop-up menu at the bottom of the screen.
    • If you don't see Settings, swipe left across the menu.
  4. Tap Clear Data. It's near the middle of the page.
  5. Tap Clear All Data. This option is at the bottom of the pop-up menu. Doing so will remove all saved data from your iPhone's Dolphin browser.
    • If you simply wish to clear the cached data, tap Clear Cache instead.

Firefox

  1. Open Firefox. It's the red fox encircling a blue globe.
  2. Tap . This icon is at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings. You'll see this option in the bottom-right side of the screen.
  4. Scroll down and tap Clear Private Data. It's beneath the "Privacy" heading.
  5. Tap Clear Private Data. It's the last option on this page.
    • You can slide any options on this page left to the "off" position to avoid deleting the data for them.
  6. Tap OK when prompted. Doing so will remove all selected temporary browsing data from your Firefox app.
