Create an iPhone Alarm That Will Vibrate Without Ringing

This article teaches you how to set an alarm on your iPhone that will vibrate but will not play a sound.

Steps

  1. Open the Clock app. It's an app that contains a clock and is typically located on your home screen.
  2. Tap Alarm. It's an alarm clock icon in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap . It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  4. Set the alarm time. Do so by scrolling up or down with the hour and minute dials, then selecting either "AM" or "PM."
  5. Set a repeat frequency. If you'd like the alarm to go off more than once or at a regular time, tap Repeat and select the days you'd like it to go off, then tap Back.
  6. Name your alarm. If you'd like to give this alarm a custom name, tap Label and type a name in the text field, then tap Save.
  7. Tap Sound. It's near the bottom of the menu.
  8. Tap Vibration. It's near the top of the menu.
  9. Select a vibration style. Choose one of the preset vibration styles from the section labeled "STANDARD" or tap Create New Vibration under "CUSTOM" to create your own.
  10. Tap Sound. It's in the upper-left corner of the screen.
  11. Scroll down and tap None. It's at the very bottom of the menu.
  12. Tap Back. It's in the upper-left corner of the screen.
  13. Tap Save. It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. The alarm will now go off at the time and on the day(s) you set with a vibrating alert but no sound.
