Dial a Scooter
Dialing your scooter can be easy for some and hard for others. Dialing a scooter will make it more solid for jumps and general riding. Here is how to do it.
Steps
- Loosen the screws on the clamp. To start the process of dialing your scooter, loosen the screws on your clamp, which is located on the bottom of your handlebars and on top of your headset.
- Remove the handlebars from the tubing which they sit on. If you're handlebars are tight or stuck on the tubing, get a soft mallet and hit your handlebars until they pop out.
- Loosen the rings on top of the headset. Now that your handlebars are off, we will now head to the headset. Get a headset wrench measuring at 30-32mm x 36-40mm, and then proceed to loosening the two rings on top of your headset.(If you have a MGP scooter.)
- Once you have loosened the headset, pull the forks from out of the deck.
- Ball bearings are on the forks, so be careful.
- Re-assemble the scooter. Make sure you tighten everything up, but not too tight, or it will seize up things.
Tips
- Have some grease soap in reach.
- Wear gloves if you aren't a fan of getting your hands dirty.
- If your ball bearings are crusty, use some WD-40 or lube to lubricate them.
Warnings
- Do not tighten your clamp screws tight.
