Do a Seat Stand on a Mountain Bike
Doing a seat stand on a mountain bike is extremely simple and easy. This trick is good for beginners.
Steps
- Get to a speed that's not slow, but not too fast, so you can balance.
- Stop pedaling.
- Stand up and lift your foot to the metal in front of the seat. (Not the handle bars.) Then take your other foot off of the pedals and put it on the seat.
Tips
- The bike needs to be in an easy gear so it will keep going.
- Be sure not to go too fast or you will fall when you try to get on the seat. If you do this and you are falling, abort your bike by kicking off the seat and you will not get hurt. (That's if you jump into grass.) Try to tuck into a sideways roll.
- And remember it slows the bike down some when you get on the seat.
- Once you get good, you can customize this trick by taking one foot off of the seat and putting it on your handlebars; this is a very versatile trick.
Warnings
- Do not go too fast because you will 99% of the time hurt yourself.
- Don't take your hands off the handle bars.
