Download Games Onto a Graphing Calculator

Do you want to download games to your graphing calculator? Just to pass the time or to entertain yourself at school? This guide shows you how.

Steps

  1. Download and install a software that allows you to transfer the game to your calculator.
  2. Download the game you wish to transfer to your calculator. You can download a good pack here. You can also download other games of your choice if you want, just search a bit here.
  3. Extract the package.
  4. Connect your calculator to your PC. Use the USB cable that came with your calculator. Windows might ask you to install a new hardware device. Insert the CD that came with your calculator in you CD/DVD-rom and press next.
  5. Open the Ti connect application and go to Ti device explorer.
  6. Wait for the software to find your calculator. Select USB when prompted.
  7. Drag the file you extracted from the file you downloaded, that's your game, (usually a .8xk but it can have another extension...so how do you know what file to drag? easy! the one with the calculator icon on it)
  8. Wait until the transfer is finished.
  9. Disconnect your calculator from the computer and close Ti connect. You can also delete the game files now, you will not need 'em anymore.
  10. Press the [APPS] button in your calculator, and the game will be there.
  11. Have fun

Tips

  • Be sure that your calculator is ON when you connect it to your computer.

Warnings

  • Make sure the game you're downloading isn't a virus, just download stuff to your calculator from the TI website!
  • Do not disconnect or turn off your calculator during the transfer!
  • Don't play games during class or at work! Be responsible.

Things You'll Need

  • A Texas Instruments graphing calculator
  • A firewire-to-USB cable (comes with the calculator)
  • The CD that comes with your calculator
  • A computer with at least one available USB port
  • An internet connection
