Download Ti 83 Plus Programs from the Internet

The graphing calculators made by Texas Instruments are extremely powerful processing tools on their own, but add-on software can vastly improve the capabilities. This tutorial focuses mainly on the Ti-83+ family (83+,83+ SE,84+,84+ SE), but can easily be followed for nearly any other TI calculator.

Steps

  1. Get linking software for your computer, such as TiLP, or TI Graph-Link, and follow the installation instructions to install it.
  2. Plug your cable into the computer (where depends on what cable you have and sometimes your computer does not have the right kind of entrance) and the other end into the calculator.
  3. Start the linking program that you just installed. If it detects the calculator, everything is working fine, and proceed.
  4. Download calculator software from the internet. (Files for the 83+ family have the extension .8xp)
  5. Make sure downloaded program is unzipped and located in a normal windows folder
  6. Select the program you downloaded in your linking program (how you do this varies between programs) and send it to the calculator. For Windows this can involve finding the unzipped program in windows explorer and right clicking it (from a normal--nonzipped--folder window) and selecting "send to TI device"
  7. Use the program on your calculator.

Tips

  • If you have a USB cable, you will need either TiLP or TI Connect, no other software supports it.

Things You'll Need
