Draw a Bed
This tutorial you will show you how to draw beds in 2-D and 3-D.
Contents
Steps
A Simple Single Bed
- Sketch a horizontal line.
- Add 2 dots near each corner of the line as the vanishing point.
- Sketch a basic shape of the bed by using lines originating from the vanishing points. Add the vertical lines for the corner of the bed.
- Add headboard of the bed by following the same rules.
- Add the other basic details like the area of the mattress.
- Draw the basic outline of the bed. Add pillows and other parts of the bed.
- Erase the draft lines and add more details of the bed like creases and bed features.
- Color the bed.
A Queen-sized Bed
- Sketch a long horizontal line and a long vertical line forming a cross.
- Same rules as the previous method, sketch a basic shape of the bed by using lines originating from the vanishing points. Add the vertical lines for the corner of the bed.
- Sketch legs of the bed using the same rules.
- Add the other basic details such as the design of the mattress cover and pillows.
- Draw the basic outline of the bed.
- Erase the draft lines and then add more details of the bed like creases on the pillow and the mattress.
- Color the bed.
A Two-Dimensional Bed
- Draw five horizontal lines, {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} apart except for the last two lines which is only half an inch apart.
- Draw two vertical lines on each end of the horizontal lines.
- Highlight a square as the head board of the bed on the left corner, draw a circle on top as part of the design. Draw the same on the foot part of the bed, making it a little bit shorter than that of the head board.
- Draw a pillow and a blanket.
- Draw a mattress and erase unnecessary lines.
- Colour as desired.
A Three-Dimensional Bed
- Draw five horizontal lines, {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} apart except for the last two lines which is only half an inch apart. Mark a dot on the upper left side of your drawing to serve as a vanishing point.
- Draw three vertical lines. Make the first two closer and the last line farther on the right.
- Starting from the vanishing point, draw six slanted lines that will intersect on the horizontal and vertical lines you have drawn earlier. Mark each intersection with a corresponding letter from A to F only to serve as your guide later.
- Draw a horizontal line connecting point G to point H.
- Make a three dimensional rectangle connecting the points you have made earlier. Using the vanishing point as a guide, connect point G to point A, point I to point E, point H to point F. Draw vertical lines connecting point G to I, A to E and F to J.
- Trace three slanted lines from the vanishing point to points B, C, and D.
- Draw another vertical line connecting point 1 with 2. Trace another slanted line to connect point 2 with point 3.
- Draw an outline of the frame of your bed using vertical lines on each four corners.
- Add details of the frame using slender rectangles and a circle on top. As for the head board, draw a curved line.
- Draw a pillow and a blanket.
- Erase all unnecessary lines.
- Add colour as desired.
