Method Three: Skull
- Look at a picture of a skull, get a feeling for how it looks.
- Take a pencil and lightly draw a circle.
- If you wish to draw the skull facing you, make a horizontal line and a vertical line that go through the circle, then draw two vertical lines on the left and right side of the skull. (See illustration for further reference)
- Make an angled "U" shape at the bottom, closing in the chin.
- Two large circles near the middle of the circle will represent eye sockets, as well as a triangle for the nose.
- Draw lines for the mouth, and then teeth. These can be rearranged depending on how your person will look.
- Erase excess lines, and darken your drawing.
- Use a shading pencil to shade in the eye sockets and nose.
- Practice! Try using shading once you get good at this.
Tips
- Draw lightly for the start once you've got it make it darker.
- Practice, and then practice more! Although it might be an overused phrase, it's true, "Practice makes perfect!"
- Don't be afraid to trace. Tracing helps you to get the feel for the drawing.
- Try drawing the skull at different angles. This will help greatly.
- Do your best, even though when you show it to other people and they laugh. Keep practicing!
