Dress to Impress as a Girl

You have a job interview and you don't know what to wear. How do you impress without going over the top? Here are some basic guidelines for looking good at any time!

Steps

  1. When buying clothes, look for items that will fit you and flatter your body type. For example, if you are a little larger, don't wear tight fitting shirts. Pick colors that look nice with your skin or bring out your eyes. Don't buy trendy clothes just because they are trendy! Wear what you like and what you look good in. It is a good idea to start building up a wardrobe of basics. Try some plain colored t-shirts and tank tops for layering, and a couple of great light jackets. You'll be able to mix-and-match and continue looking great for days to come!
  2. Be modest in your appearance. That doesn't mean you have to look like a nun, but don't be overly revealing! Believe it or not this is a turn off to some guys because it makes you look trashy. You want to impress, not look desperate! Showing too much skin can be unattractive and even distracting! You can wear a low cut shirt or something to get the guy's attention.
  3. Don't be too over-the-top. It looks like you put way to much effort into it and ends up looking bad in the end. It is sometimes good to keep things simple!
  4. Now that you have the perfect outfit, don't slack on the hair! It doesn't matter what your do is, but keep it looking classy and elegant! You don't want to ruin your great outfit with bad hair.
  5. Remember great hygiene is key! What is the point of going to all that work to look great if people are put off by your smell? Being clean will keep you looking healthier and feeling better!
  6. Now all you have to worry about is your personality. Be confident but not cocky, and you'll impress everyone! If you didn't feel confident before, your new dressing skills will boost your confidence in any situation!
  7. Remember to try things on before you buy or they will be to big or small.

Tips

  • Smile! Just because you've changed your look doesn't mean you've got to be all shy.
  • Don't forget who you are! You don't have to make a complete style change, maybe all you need is to tone things down a bit.
  • Choosing clothes that are a little more special than an ordinary T-shirt or jeans is impressive. Perhaps a decoration or ruffle on your top or a necklace. Balancing and accenting the best of your body without being trashy can be tricky.
  • Trendy is not very important to most people.
