Focus On School and Not the Boys

There are many reasons why you should focus on school and not the boys. Grades will last you longer. Focus on boys in high school, or college, when you know without a doubt in your heart that you're ready for a steady relationship. Remember, boys are not things to be thrown away instantly (in most cases).

Steps

  1. Set long term goals for the school year. If you know what you need to get done in the long run than make sure you remind yourself of those and having a concrete knowledge of what they are can help motivate you.
  2. Set short term goals. These can be monthly, weekly, or daily. If you know what you want to accomplish academically and extra curricular-wise you will have more motive to reach those goals. It might help to write a "to do" list so you can check off homework or other goals as you accomplish them.
  3. Think about your top priorities and know what's important at this time in your life.
  4. Think about how doing well in school will help you further on in finding a college and just living life and how life will be so much easier if you work hard now and finish what you have to finish.
  5. Stay organized.
  6. Keep yourself busy. Get involved in your school or outside with volunteer work or community service. Make sure you find something you enjoy because not only can it be fun but it can look good for colleges and keep your mind off any certain boys.
  7. Set aside time to be social and hang out with the guys. There is a time to work and a time to play. If you keep them separate everything will work out better.
  8. You might have to try self restrictions by telling yourself that you are not going talk to the guys until you get your work done or unless you are on top of things in school.
  9. Remember: A girl who is able to keep on top of her work and manage her time well generally looks good to a guy and can be impressive.
  10. Focus on the tasks at hand think about how other people like your family would want you to do well in school.

Tips

  • Don't look at him too much. You might develop a stronger crush.
  • Don't look at him or think about him during school.
  • If you find yourself thinking about him during school, dive in to your schoolwork. Keep your mind off of him.
  • Distract yourself.
  • Sometimes, it is helpful to be crushing on a boy in your class. You might want to impress him by being smarter than him so you could maybe tutor him or just not seem like an idiot if he asks for your help. This could really help you in school as long as you don't go overboard. Try not to rub it in his face though.

Warnings

  • He might think you're a geek, but you need to tell him up front that you need to focus on your schoolwork. He will understand if he's a nice guy.
