Fully Build a Drag Go Kart

Why buy a set of go-karting plans when you just can look at these for free! This article talks mainly about building go karts the cheapest and the most effective way possible.

Steps

  1. Prepare to make blue prints by getting some graph paper and a pencil(Look at the link given below).
  2. Buy a big plank of wood to make the base of the kart but it should not be too thin or thick because if its thick your motors will not run properly and if its too thin then it will crack.
  3. Buy four small wheels the wheels should be of rubber for best friction never go for those cheap plastic ones.
  4. Determine what kind of go kart you would like to build: a fun off-road go kart or a drag kart.
  5. Measure out everything from bottom to top. Determine whether or not it's going to have a sheet and metal body.
  6. Invest in a good bunch of round tubing for roll cage and frame fabricating.
  7. Put in a CBR600RR engine or a type of a small engine but use the CBR600RR if you want to blast down the sand drag strip instantly .
  8. Go to a go-kart store and buy a steering wheel for your kart (The butterfly steering wheel works the best).
  9. Buy a go kart steering system with a slightly extended steering stem.
  10. Paint the kart to make it look as cool as possible (Optional).
  11. Use help from some friends and adults to make the go kart

  13. Take part in a go kart contest (but ask permission from your parents first)And win and make me proud.
  14. Customize your go kart a lot and take care of it (keep it clean and well oiled)
  15. Also install better handling and performance devices.

  • Lights (If you want to drive it in night or in rainy weather)

  • There are many things to keep in mind when driving a go kart in rain like never oversteer, never go too fast because it can cause to make your brakes fail,burn out your engine and make you slip.

  • go-kart steering system (you may have to extend it)
  • Buy bicycle brakes for your go kart

  • go-kart steering wheel (Any type would be fine but still a Butterfly steering wheel is recommended)

  • table saw
  • plenty of round tubing
  • Always wear a helmet (I know it doesn't look cool and wearing it is embarrassing but you will thank me when you crash somewhere and your helmet saves you from serious injuries)

  • any kind of small engine
  • Don't install too many electrical devices in it if you want to drive it in rain.
  • rear paddle tires with front razors  (quad tires recommended)
