Why is Social Media Marketing Profitable?
Social Media is profitable because anyone can reach an incredibly large number of people without spending a lot of money on advertising.
Interaction - You are building relationships with potential clients. People buy from people (not faceless businesses)
Growth - Businesses are investing much more money and energy as they realize social media’s potential to generate additional revenue streams, and to brand themselves online. The growth potential is very high.
Speed – You can reach a massive audience quickly through social media marketing. Social Media Marketing can also be Viral, which means that your message will spread by other viewers on other networks.
Steps
- Help your clients choose which of the social media platforms they are interested in using to promote their brand/company.
- Explain how the various social media platforms are interconnected. For example, you can connect the company's Twitter and Facebook accounts so that if you post a new tweet, Facebook will post it, and vice-verso.
- Let your clients know that their visitors like updates regularly and that it is imperative to uphold that schedule.
- Find out how your clients used to update their posts, blogs or tweets in the past as you may have a way to streamline all of their social media efforts, and make everyone's life easier.
- Know if you will be managing all the social media, or only some, as some social media manager positions require only tweeting, or only going through comments and removing the spam comments and redirecting the actual comments to the concerned party within the organization.
Tips
- Another interesting tip is to follow your own news-feed. What this will do is give you Status updates of people you are friends with.
- The next thing to do is join the groups and be active in communicating with them. Do not forget to focus on adding users who are both active, and those with many friends.
- To gain fans and friends, the first thing to do is to find Facebook groups that are related to your/client's niche or even related products, companies and brands
Warnings
- Hard Selling – The hard sell approach does not work on many people. Instead, try to remember that people like to buy from other people. The best way to do this is to build relationships with your potential customers and let them get to know you and trust you.
- Selling too soon – Before you go for the sale, the best thing to do first is to concentrate on the value offering. Have fresh content on a strict timeline so that people can trust the content will arrive when they expect it to. Branding should be continuous through the site and on all communication with your customers. This will create trust and a good relationship with your customers so that they will buy what you are selling, and chances are they will buy again and again if they trust you
- Spamming – Avoid sending emails with many spammy links, this will destroy your reputation and will lead to less sales.
- Using Automation Software – As easy as these tools may seem to be, they can actually be a crutch to your business if your customers feel like they are communicating to a bot. It might seem like a lot of hard work and effort, but it is worth it and your customers will thank you in the end.
