Get to Outland World of Warcraft

You've installed Burning Crusade and you've (finally) got a level 60 character. You're ready to move on to Outland to level up more but you don't know how to get there! It's really easy, but I'm about to show you how.

Steps

Getting to the Blasted Lands

This is where the Dark Portal to Outland sits. You will only be able to go through the Portal if you have Burning Crusade installed and are at least level 58.

  1. To get there as Horde: Get a mage to teleport you to Stonard in the Swamp of Sorrows. From there, run south into the Blasted Lands.
  2. To get there as Alliance: The zone path should go something like this - Stormwind > Westfall > Duskwood > Deadwind Pass > Swamp of Sorrows > Blasted Lands.
  3. Take a portal in any capital city. These are located in Orgrimmar (Cleft of Shadow), Undercity (Magic Quarter), Thunderbluff (Spirit Rise, Pools of Vision), Silvermoon City (Sunfury Spire), Stormwind (Wizard's Sanctum, Mage Quarter), Ironforge (Mystic Ward), Darnassus (Temple of the Moon), and the Exodar (Vault of Lights).
  4. Once you find the portal, simply right-click on it to enter. After a loading screen, you should be in the blasted lands facing the Dark Portal.

Getting to Outland

  1. In the southeastern part of the Blasted Lands, you'll find the Dark Portal. The portal is a large rectangular "doorway" full of green swirling energy. Surrounding the portal is a group of tent-like shelters with Non-Player Characters both Horde and Alliance, all of which are friendly.
  2. Walk through the swirling green doorway to enter it.
  3. Once you go through the Dark Portal, you will appear on the eastern end of Hellfire Peninsula - on the Stair of Destiny. You are now in Outland in the starting zone for both Alliance and Horde players. In front of you, there is a raging battle between Non-Player Characters and Hellfire monsters. Don't try to help because it's very easy to die and the battle will continue to rage. To your left and right, there are more NPCs. On your right, there is a flight master that will allow you to fly away so you won't have to walk to your faction's base through the battle(Thrallmar for the Horde and Honor Hold for the Alliance) in Hellfire Peninsula.



Tips

  • If you find yourself wanting or needing to go to Outland for any reason before level 58, find a warlock and two friends that are over level 58. The warlock can use his/her Ritual of Summoning to teleport you anywhere in Outland. Be cautious, however, as the enemies in Outland are level 58-70, so you may need an escort.
