Get your Pokémon Infected with Pokérus

Pokérus is a rare, contagious, performance-enhancing virus that can infect your Pokémon. It causes the infected Pokémon's stat gains to be much greater than usual. However, while the stat gains will definitely help in the long run, the Pokérus will wear off eventually.

Steps

  1. Find someone else who has an infected Pokémon. It is much easier to catch the infection from somebody else's Pokémon than it is to find it yourself. If this doesn't work, move on to the next step.
  2. Battle wild Pokémon. The only way to get the Pokérus is from another infected Pokémon, and if you don't have any friends who have infected Pokémon, there is a very, very slight chance that a wild Pokémon will have it.
  3. Take your Pokémon to a Pokémon Center periodically. The nurse will tell you if your Pokémon is infected. The Pokémon Center cannot cure the Pokérus, so don't worry about losing it that way.
  4. Spread the virus as soon as one of your Pokémon gets it. Put other Pokémon in your party with the infected one, and save one infected Pokémon on your PC, in case you ever want to start another epidemic.
  5. Train your Pokémon, and watch their stats soar.
  6. Offer infected Pokémon in trades. After you tell them what the Pokérus does, they should be willing to give you some pretty awesome stuff for it.

Tips

  • After your Pokémon has recovered, PKRS will be replaced with a little dot, indicating that it was infected at one time, but has gotten over it now (It will still gain double stats permanently,It just won't spread around).
  • When your Pokémon has Pokérus, the letters PKRS will appear in the Status bar.
