Have Funky Hair

Ever woken up and thought "I really need a new haircut"? Or had friends say your hair was a "simple" cut? Felt the need to stand out in a crowd? If so read on and learn how!

Steps

  1. Cut your hair very short if you want a look that portrays funky, out there and trendy. It not only works for your hair but for you as well; after the big haircut you take on an entirely new attitude.
  2. Add shattered layers, a fringe or a long full bang for an extra accent.
  3. Add color, and we are not talking sun-kissed highlights. Color in the range of fuchsia, oranges, pinks- it's your call how much to add.
  4. Maintain your habits with very short hair if you are the type of girl that is adventurous and likes to play with hair.
  5. Play with texture as well, adding stacking, layers, or spikes as you like.

Tips

  • Your hair grows about one half inch per month, so very short hair will need to be maintained by regular trims to keep the shape.
  • Any mistakes (maybe a little too much parrot green) are easily taken care of by just cutting as your hair grows, or you could try washing your hair with aggressive shampoo.
  • How you look should reflect how you feel, are you funky and out there?
  • Go for it!
  • Knowing your face shape is important when going very short. It is an ideal cut for facial features such as the mouth and nose that are petite or on the smaller side.

Warnings

  • Make sure that you tell you parents before you make a huge change with your hair.
  • This is hair that is "Be Extremely Out There Without Feeling Discomfort"; if you are more of a shy type, this may not be your best choice.
  • If you are entering the job market and will be in a conservative atmosphere, you may want to learn some styling techniques you can use in your free time, and then easily revert back to work mode. For example, if you hair is mostly short but with long bangs, sweep them to the side at work, then put them back over your face (or wherever else you put them) other times.
