Install LED Daytime Running Lights for a Chevrolet Cruze

A daytime running light is a device that you install on the front of a car, truck, or even a bicycle. It automatically switches on when the vehicle is moving forward, emitting white, yellow, or amber light to increase the visibility for other vehicles or people during daylight conditions. This Chevy Cruze direct fit LED Daytime Running Lights will replace either the empty bezel or the factory equipped fog light assembly.

Steps

  1. Remove the bumper and remove the stock fog light or empty bezel. You will need to locate the tabs and screws that are holding the bumper on the frame. Once the screws and bolts are removed, you can gently move the bumper off the vehicle and set it down.
    • Keep all the bolts and screws in a bag to prevent any loss while reinstalling the bumper back on.
  2. Replace with LED daytime running lights. Now, you can access the OEM Fog Light assembly or the empty bezel. You will need to unscrew and pop the assembly or bezel off and replace it with the all new Chevy Cruze LED Daytime Running Light unit. The DRL kit has the wiring harness included. You will need to connect it together so it draws power to both units.
  3. Connect the positive. You need to locate the fuse box to tap to the ACC 12V+ to draw power to the LED Daytime Running Lights. You will need to check your owner’s manual to locate the exact fuse slot of the ACC 12V+ (different vehicle year, trim and models will vary). Take the red wire from the harness and tap it into the ACC 12V+ fuse slot.
  4. Connect to the ground. After you have tapped the positive wire to the ACC 12V, you will need to ground the remaining black wire to the battery’s negative terminal. After you secured the connections, start the car and check to see if the Chevy Cruze LED Daytime Running Lights are fully operational.

Tips

  • You will need a test to find the ACC: Place this test pen into the slot of your fuse box, when the engine is off. It should not light up. Start the car, if the tester lights up, then this is an ACC.
