Lift Someone over Your Head With One Hand
Lifting someone over your head with only one hand and a sturdy belt is not as difficult as it might sound. This technique can be used in case of a serious emergency or just for fun. Follow this how-to guide and you can do lift someone over your head with one hand easily and safely.
Steps
- Remove your belt. Make sure to use a strong leather belt for this trick. The buckle in particular needs to be able to withstand a fair amount of weight.
- Tie the belt tightly. Put the belt around the person who you are trying to lift, right underneath the arms. The buckle should be in the front and secured comfortably snug, in the center of the chest.
- Get in position. Ask the person being lifted to stand on a stool or chair behind you. Turn so your back is to the buckle. Grab hold of the belt buckle while bending your legs and keeping your arm straight.
- Lift with your legs. Keep your back perfectly straight and use your legs to lift up.
- Hold the weight above your head. Even though it might look as if you are holding the other person above your head with the strength of one arm, in essence it is your back and legs taking most of the weight.
Warnings
- When first attempting this, you may want to use a spotter so that the person being lifted does not get hurt if the other person accidentally drops the lifted person on the ground.
- Using improper lifting technique could damage your back, or dislocate your shoulder. Make sure your entire body is in a straight line; that way, your legs do all the lifting.
- Make sure the belt is strong. If it breaks, your fist is probably below your partner's larynx and you could cause significant injury.
