Look Great for Your First Day of High School

After several weeks of bliss you have to go back to the wonderful, amazing, great place of school (sarcasm intended). Then, after fretting about work and asking all the usual 'What's my teacher going to be like?', 'Will it be harder?' 'Will I look stupid?' questions, your head turns to how you'll look. Want to look flawless on that first day? Read on...

Steps

  1. Wake up 2 hours before your school starts. Why? Two reasons - you want to have time to do make-up and hair and you don't want to be late. Set your alarm the night before to avoid waking up at 9am.
  2. Take a shower! Taking a shower in the morning will not only wake you up quicker, it will have you looking and feeling refreshed! When you first turn on the shower, keep the water chilly, then once you're woken up, warm it up a little! If you want to shampoo your hair, do it, but don't spend more than 25 minutes in the shower. You don't want to waste all of your time.
  3. Don't put on your clothes you plan on wearing to school right away. That should be the last thing you do. You don't want to get any makeup, hair products, or food on your outfit!
  4. Work on your hair. Do something cute, fun and different. Don't do something that you would usually do with your hair. Seventeen Magazine, CosmoGirl, and other teen magazines always have cute hairstyles, and sometimes they give you step by step directions on how to do them. Add a cute hair accessory to finish it off!
  5. Do your makeup. Once again, teen magazines usually have cute and fun makeup ideas that aren't too over the top. You don't want to overdo your makeup, you'll look fake! So keep it natural. Use a liquid foundation and bring a compact of loose powder with you, just for after gym touch-ups. Do something fun that makes your eyes pop. Use a nude or a pink shimmery lip gloss.
  6. Breakfast time! Have a healthy breakfast with some orange juice, or if you're not that hungry have some toast or a yogurt. Breakfast is brain food!
  7. The night before, you should pick out a cute and fun outfit. Something colorful but not too crazy! Teen magazines show a lot of cute outfits that are cheap & in style for the season. Also, remember to accessorize but don't go over the top. Accessories makes any outfit pop, but too many can ruin a look. Try different accessories and find what works best!

Tips

  • Stay confident! No matter what anyone says to you, keep your head held high and a smile on your face!
  • First impressions are really effective, but still be yourself.
  • Always try your hardest in your work and don't try to blend in to the crowd.
  • Be yourself. Be the person everyone loved last year. Maybe even spice that old you up!
  • No matter what, be yourself. Your new day is coming!
  • Have a heap of fun and try not to worry too much!
  • Make your outfit school appropriate. Don't wear anything too short, or too low-cut. You don't want to give everyone a bad first impression.
  • Be nice to everyone, even if you don't like them, or they're mean to you.
  • If someone is bullying you stand up for yourself.

Warnings

  • Don't just rely on outside beauty. No-one wants to be friends with a snobby brat, so smile and talk to everyone.
