Make Cinnamon Toast

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps
First Method
- Gather the materials in both the "Ingredients" and the "Things You Will Need" sections. Take the butter out of the refrigerator before you perform the other steps. Heat the butter up in the microwave for 30 seconds or let it sit out in room temperature until you're ready to use it.
- Make the cinnamon sugar. Stir together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until they are mixed thoroughly.
- Choose your bread. Anything that can have a broad sliced surface to hold melted butter will work. It shouldn't be very stale, but slightly stale bread temporarily improves with heating.
- Toast slices of the bread. Take out or make however many slices you like and toast them. If making slices to toast simultaneously, make them about equally thick so they finish toasting simultaneously.
- Butter the hot toast. Right after the toast finishes, set it on a plate and butter it. Slice a pat of butter (or whatever you use) onto each slice of toast, and let it melt a bit. Smear the butter with the knife so its evenly distributed.
- Sprinkle as little or as much of the cinnamon sugar as you want over the toast. The butter will make it stick.
- Finished. Try serving with milk.
Alternate Method
- Pull out a baking pan and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Place your selected bread on according to your oven's burner position.
- Get a small bowl and butter. Place butter in bowl and melt in microwave.
- Add cinnamon and sugar. Pour cinnamon and brown sugar in the bowl with the butter.
- Mix thoroughly, making sure no butter chunks are in sight.
- Taste the mixture. If too buttery, add more cinnamon and/or sugar.
- Coat the bread. With your spoon or mixing utensil, adequately lather the bread slices with the new formed mixture.
- Turn on the oven. Once finished with cinnamon mixture, turn on your oven's broiler setting (500 degrees) and place the pan of bread inside. Watch closely and intently. The toast takes 1-2 minutes long.
- Once your toast has reached your desired crunchiness and the sauce has desired consistency, let cool. Do not cool too long, toast is best when hot and fresh.
- Finished. Try serving with milk.
Tips
- You can experiment with the sugar-cinnamon ratio for a slightly more or less cinnamon-like taste.
- Cinnamon becomes "too much" more quickly and strongly than sugar. If you like just a little cinnamon sugar on your toast, make the mixture stronger in cinnamon than usual; if you like a lot, make it stronger in sugar.
- If you have problems spreading the sugar evenly pour the sugar on a plate and press the toast on it.
- Cinnamon sugar will stick to spreads other than butter, too. Try peanut butter for a different flavor and more nutrition. Cinnamon sugar would be a great way to spice up otherwise "natural" all-peanut peanut butter.
- You could also try putting cocoa powder on the bread along with the sugar or cinnamon sugar. Or try chocolate syrup, which is itself sweetened.
- Store away any excess cinnamon sugar, it keeps for a very long time.
- If you use whole wheat or multi-grain toast, this is a great way to get children to eat more whole grains.
Warnings
- Be careful when taking the toast out of the toaster. Never use cutlery (spoons, forks etc.) or metal tongs to get toast out of a toaster, as parts inside carry electricity at times. Completely nylon tongs are better.
