Make Coconut Chocolate Pretzel Sticks
These are delightfully crunchy and they're easy to make and are perfect for parties or just to munch on.
Ingredients
- Chocolate (dark, semisweet, or bittersweet)
- Pretzel sticks
- Shredded sweetened coconut
Steps
- To melt the chocolate, chop it into {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} chunks and place it in a {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} microwave-safe bowl.
- Place it in the microwave, uncovered on medium until chocolate is smooth, and stir it well. Make sure there are no lumps. (If so, then continue to heat on medium, but check often! You wouldn't want your chocolate to become overheated and grainy.)
- Dip a quarter of each pretzel stick into the melted chocolate.
- Coat the chocolate covered pretzels with coconut.
- Place sticks on a sheet of wax paper on top of a cookie sheet and broil them in a 400ºF oven until coconut starts to brown.
Tips
- Store in an airtight container.
- This is a good snack for kids after school, or just to munch on any time.
- Before dipping the chocolate covered pretzel in coconut, toast the coconut in the oven (or use packaged toasted coconut). This will keep the chocolate from melting off the pretzel when you try to toast the coconut!
