- Prep time: 15 minutes
- Cook time: 15 to 25 minutes
Contents
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cup (450 grams) flour
- 3 teaspoons (13 grams) baking powder
- 1 teaspoon (6 grams) salt
- 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters) olive oil
- 3/4 to 1 cup (180 to 240 milliliters) water
Steps
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
- Add the warm water and the oil.
- Stir all ingredients together until the mixture forms a ball. (Add more water if the dough becomes too stiff.)
- Turn out the dough onto a floured cutting board and knead the ball of dough gently for a few minutes. The dough should be soft, but not sticky. Sprinkle a little flour on the dough if it is too sticky to knead.
- Spread the dough onto a pizza pan or a flat baking sheet. Smooth out the dough so that it is uniformly even.
- Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 15 to 25 minutes.
- Remove pizza from oven and add desired toppings.
Tips
- Cook pizza for five minutes and then add toppings.
- Try spreading olive oil or melted butter on the dough and sprinkling it with garlic salt before you bake it.
- You can bake the dough for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and add cheese and sauce. Return the dough to the oven to bake for another 5 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- If you don’t have baking powder, you can substitute baking soda—use half the amount and omit the salt.
- Serve the pizza hot and when hunger is at its peak, it will be more delicious.
- Try adding a pinch of Italian seasonings for more flavor. You could buy it in a mix at a supermarket, or you could make it yourself with some dried basil, oregano, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, rosemary, black pepper, and a little red pepper.
- Add some mixed herbs to the dough before baking.
- Adding extra toppings like cheddar or mozzarella cheese.
- Stuff crust with cheese for a extra spin on your pizza.
- Bake the pizza longer if you prefer the crust to have a crunchy texture.
- Knead for a bit longer.
Warnings
- Check on the dough after it has been baking for 10 minutes. Thinly spread dough will cook faster and get crispier.
