Make Taiwanese Ice Cream
This is a wonderful dessert enjoyed by many in Taiwan. There's no reason you can't enjoy it, too, wherever in the world you might be!
Ingredients
- 1 block of ice
- Sweetened, condensed milk
- Toppings of choice
Steps
- Prepare a block of ice to be shaved or gather ice cubes to be crushed. You may use a food processor to crush your ice.
- Divide the ice into one cup servings and place into bowls.
- Drizzle the crushed ice with sweetened, condensed milk. Remember, this is not the same as evaporated milk.
- Top each serving with your favorite toppings. Some suggested toppings would be:
- Red beans
- Lychee (Soapberry, often sold in Asian specialty supermarkets)
- Pineapple
- Strawberry Sauce
- Mango
- Green beans
- Perhaps you could experiment and use other, non-traditional toppings such as:
- Peanut Butter
- Nuts
- Cookies
- Grab a spoon and enjoy!
Tips
- It doesn't matter where you are. Try this treat on a really hot day!
- You might use a Korean-made ice crusher to simplify the job! But the machine is rare to buy.
Warnings
- Make sure that you are not wearing your favorite shirt. This dessert is delicious but can be messy.
