Beat Your Kids at Halo on Xbox
Halo is one of the most popular games ever created. Nowadays, it is gaining popularity among kids as well as adults. Follow these simple steps to avoid being smoked by your children.
Steps
- Practice on your own preferably when the kids are sleeping. Never let them see you practice; that will only make them practice more or tease you more when they beat you. If you can't find time to play using your Xbox, try playing similar games on mobile or PC (Pubg, Fortnite, Call of Duty, etc.)
- Play through the campaign mode in CO-OP with your kid. Not only will you get better, but you get to see what they do and live through it.
- Don't play one of them alone. If you don't have two kids, grab a neighborhood kid or reasonable facsimile. Preferably one with equal skills to your kid.
- Establish an alliance with one of them before playing. Or do your best to generate some sort of competitive animosity between the two kids. This is a very important step if you cannot win alone. Use any and all tactics at your disposal to accomplish this.
- Fuel the competition, once the game begins, by commenting on every small victory that either of them have against one another.
- Gather grenades(sticky grenades preferred) and good weapons.
- Use the grenades and the weapons when their health is reasonably low so that you get easy kills. This method is known as "cherry picking". Also, if you think you are about to die, throw a grenade at your feet to try to kill the oncoming opponent.
- Repeat steps 2 through 7 until victorious.
Tips
- If you do end up playing you kid alone make sure you always try to hide in good spots, which should be secluded and protected on at least two sides.
- A very useful tactic is to quickly glance at your kid's screen. This is called "screen peeking" and is looked down on if you get caught so don't get caught peeking. This may give you clues to his location, or even help you get out of the line of sniper fire. If you have found a well hidden camping spot, look at your kid's screen and keep your hands on the controller, that way you can attack him if he finds you quicker.
- Good luck
- A good tip is to get someone else who is older and go against your kids in team mode. Have the person on your team never leave your side. This forces a 1 on 2 situation whenever you run into one of them. Don't make it obvious or they will try use the same technique. When you beat them just remind them that discipline and tactics will beat out youth and energy every time!
- Remember your kid probably has less patience than you do. Use a tactic known as 'camping'. Hide somewhere with a sniper weapon, and a powerful close-quarters weapon - try to get them with the sniper before they come into range of their own guns, then go hide somewhere else. Never let them figure out quite exactly where you are hiding.
Warnings
- Losing might result in a bragging kid.
- If you do eventually become better than your kid, make sure to allow them to beat you occasionally. There's nothing more boring than losing or winning constantly.
- If you keep winning, they will want to stop playing.
- Do not place bets (i.e. no chores for a week, etc.) because odds are against you.
