Make a "Twister" Friendship Bracelet

This unique friendship bracelet uses braiding and knotting techniques to create a look that your friends will love. It's quick, easy and fun to make!

Steps

  1. Clip the threads to a clipboard or secure to a solid surface.
  2. Collect all the threads together in a bunch, leaving 1 thread out.
  3. Tie a basic left hand knot with the single Thread 1 around the bunch. Repeat this about 10 times, making sure the knots are pulled tight towards the left each time.
  4. Separate the threads into three different colors. Now you have 2 threads of the same color in each bunch.
  5. Braid the three bunches, like you would hair, until the braided part of the bracelet is as long as the knotted part.
  6. Collect all the threads again. Leave 1 thread out, making sure that it is a different color than to the first thread used for knotting in Step 3. This thread will now be called Thread 1.
  7. Repeat Steps 4-7 until the bracelet is as long as you like. Then tie a knot to secure the remaining threads, leaving about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} so that you can tie it around your wrist.
  8. Finished.
