Make a Tequila Sunrise

The tequila sunrise cocktail got its name from how it looks as you pour the ingredients into the glass. It is also made two different ways. The original version contains lime juice, tequila, crème de cassis, and club soda[1].The popular and well known tequila sunrise version is this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 fl oz (60 ml) of tequila
  • 5.5 fl oz (175 mL) of orange juice (or can be substituted by 2 fresh oranges)
  • a dash of grenadine
  • 3 ice cubes
  • orange slice and a cherry (for decoration)

Steps

  1. Place a few ice cubes in your glass.
  2. Pour the tequila onto the ice.
  3. Pour the orange juice into the glass.
  4. Pour the grenadine into the glass.
  5. Cut a slice from a whole orange. Take the slice and cut that in half. Make a wedge (small cut in the middle) and use the wedge on the side of your glass.
  6. Take the cherry and make a small indent on the bottom of it as well. Use the cut on the side of the glass.
  7. Place a stirrer or umbrella and serve.
