Make an Orange Mojito
An orange mojito uses not only muddled oranges but also orange liqueur for a strong and bright orange flavor. Use a tall glass for this beverage, and make it in early spring when oranges are in season.
Ingredients
Servings: 1
- 5 mint leaves
- 2 orange wedges
- 1 oz. (30 ml) lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 oz. (30 ml) simple syrup
- 1 1/2 oz. (45 ml) light rum
- 1/2 oz. (15 ml) orange liqueur
- Ice cubes
- Splash of club soda
- Orange wheel for garnish
Steps
- Muddle the mint leaves with the orange wedges, lime juice and simple syrup in a tall glass. Muddle until you can smell the fragrance of the mint and until the oranges have released their juice.
- Add the rum and the orange liqueur.
- Fill the glass 2/3 full of ice cubes.
- Top the drink with the splash of club soda.
- Garnish with an orange wheel on the rim of the glass.
Tips
- For a variation, use blood orange wedges instead of regular navel orange wedges.
- A simple syrup infused with fresh basil is also good in this recipe.
