Mix a Pomegranate Margarita

A pomegranate margarita is a slight variation of the classic tequila sunrise cocktail. This delicious aperitif can be made with either silver or gold tequila.

Ingredients

Servings: 2

  • 2 oz. (60 ml) pomegranate juice
  • 4 oz. (120 ml) Tequila
  • 1 oz. (30 ml) triple sec
  • 2 oz. (60 ml) lime juice
  • 12 oz. ice cubes
  • Margarita salt, optional

Steps

  1. Combine the ice cubes, juice, tequila, triple sec and lime juice in a blender.
  2. Put the lid on the blender securely.
  3. Pulse the ingredients until they become frothy.
  4. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass.
  5. Invert the glasses, one at a time, and press the rims into a saucer filled with margarita salt.
  6. Turn the glasses upright and pour the cocktail into each one, being careful not to disturb the salt around the rims.
  7. Done. It's now ready to serve.

Tips

  • Margarita salt is ideal, but course table salt will work almost as well.
  • If your cocktail is a bit too tart, you can add a pinch of sugar to adjust the taste.
  • You can drop a few fresh pomegranate seeds in the bottom of each glass before pouring in the cocktail.

Warnings

  • Always drink responsibly.
