Play Club Penguin
If you like chatting and gaming, Club Penguin is a great game for you. Based on a virtual world, Club Penguin lets you create, learn, and play games as your very own Penguin. While popular among children under 14, Club Penguin is fun for all ages.

Steps
Creating an Account
- Visit the Club Penguin website. Go to the website and click Play Now. On the left of the screen, select “Create a Penguin”.
- Create your Penguin. To register a Penguin, choose a fun name, create a password you can easily remember, and enter your parent’s email with their permission. Finally, read over the terms and conditions of use and if you agree, indicate it here. Next click “Create your Penguin.”
- Your password must contain at least 6 letters and one number.
- An email activation will be sent to the email you have entered. If you are using your parent’s email or any email that belongs to someone other than yourself, make sure that they activate your account, otherwise it will be deleted within seven days.
- Follow the tour guide through the intro. After activating your account on Club Penguin, you’ll be given a tour by a Penguin guide. Read over his instructions and hit the arrows in the bottom right to continue through each instruction box.
Playing a Game
- Tap the Map icon. In the top portion of the screen, you will see a horizontal tool bar with many icons. Look for the Map icon. The icon will look like a map on a small, square card.
- If you can’t see the Map icon, it is the second one on the left.
- Tap the Game icon. Once you’ve clicked the Map icon, you will load into your current location. On the bottom of the screen you will see a Game icon. This icon looks like a grey joystick. Click here to display all the games.
- Select a game. You should see a large selection of games on your map now. To pick a game, simply click on the one you want to play.
- If you have picked the wrong game, hit the Map icon to remove yourself from the current game. Once you have been removed you can choose another game.
Reporting a Bad User
- Know when to report a user. Club Penguin is a kid’s game. If you see someone saying something that breaks the rules, don’t hesitate to report them. Instead of feeling like a tattle tale, feel like a police Penguin. Help keep other kids safe as you all enjoy the game.
- You should report a user anytime they are swearing, using racial language, sharing personal information or being a bully.
- Report bad chatting. To report bad chat, click on the Clipboard icon near the middle of the toolbar. The Clipboard icon looks like a brown clipboard with a white paper on it.
- Select the chat. If you can, select the inappropriate chat itself. If you can’t select it, don’t worry because the entire chat will be sent to the moderators.
- Club Penguin always keeps your privacy. If you report a user, they will never know you reported them.
If you can click their chat directly, their user board will come up.
- Tap the M badge. By clicking the large “M” icon you will report the user.
- If you know the user is breaking the rules but don’t know why, always select “Bad Words” and “Swearing”.
- The reports will take time to be read. If you wish to block a user, tap their chat. Click the icon with the red “X” through it. Now they will be unable to message you.
Follow the prompts to report them. First confirm that you wish to report the user. You will next be asked to select a reason such as bad words, sharing personal information, being mean, or a bad Penguin name. The next bubble will ask you to provide more information on the situation. End the report by hitting “Done”.
Troubleshooting Club Penguin
- Reset your password. If you can’t login to your account, you may need to reset your password. To reset your password, go to the login screen. Hit “Forgotten Password”. From here, you can enter your Penguin name and parent’s email address. After your mom or dad receives the email, you can click within the email to reset and update your password.
- Before resetting your password, check if your caps lock button is on. Don’t forget that a Club Penguin password is case sensitive.
- Double check the spelling of your Penguin name. If your name has been chosen to have more than one word, the spaces count.
- Fixing your connection. If you’re unable to hold a connection with the Penguin world, it could be for several reasons. You may need to reboot your internet connection if the game play seems slow. Club Penguin could also be updating or experiencing issues. If you think this may be the case, wait five to ten minutes and try again. Another connection problem could be a busy server. When choosing your server, always pick one with less than three green bars.
- If you keep getting booted from your account, try updating your password. If someone else has figured out your password and is logging in, you will automatically be kicked off Club Penguin until you log back in.
These servers are less busy and will likely run faster.
- Clear your Cache. If your game is loading slowly or not at all, you may need to clear your cache. To do so, click the small gear-shaped icon in the bottom left of the main menu. This will open four smaller icons. From there, you want to pick the small “i”. Next you need to tap the “Clear Cache” button. After the cache is cleared, close the app and try reopening it. Your game should run more smoothly now.
- In simple terms, a cache will store website information. Different types of caches will store different types of information. If you’ve never cleared a cache before, you should always check with your parents first.
Tips
- If you’re having a problem on Club Penguin you can’t find help for, try having your parents call the Disney Support Line at 1-888-861-4111.
Warnings
- Always ask for your parents permission before providing any personal information to any website.
- Bullying is never okay. Report any type of abuse immediately and never make fun of any other players.
