Remove Followers on Twitter
Unless you have a private Twitter account, you don't have much control over who can follow you. While there isn't an official way to remove a follower from your account, you can revoke selected followers' access to your Twitter feed by blocking and then unblocking them; doing so will remove them from your follower list without alerting them to the change.

Steps
Using a Mobile Device
- Tap the "Twitter" app.
- Tap the "Me" tab. This is the person-shaped icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
- Tap the "Followers" option. You'll find this above the "Tweets", "Media", and "Likes" options toward the top of your screen.
- Tap a follower you wish to block. Doing so takes you to their account page.
- Tap the gear icon. This option is to the right of your follower's profile picture.
- Tap the "Block (username)" option.
- Tap "Block" when prompted. This officially blocks your selected follower.
- Tap the red "Blocked" icon. You'll find this option in the top right corner of your screen.
- Tap "Unblock" in the resulting pop-up menu. Your follower should now be unblocked, but they will no longer be following your account.
Using a Desktop
- Navigate to your Twitter page. If you aren't already logged in, you'll need to enter your Twitter-registered email address (or your phone number/username) and password.
- Click the "Followers" option. This is on the left side of your Twitter feed, directly below your profile picture and background image.
- Click the "More user options" gear for your selected user. You'll find this to the left of the "Follow" (or "Following") button on a user's information box.
- Click "Block (username)" in the drop-down menu.
- Click "Block" again when prompted.
- Click the "Blocked" button. This is in the top right corner of your selected follower's profile; after clicking it, they will no longer be blocked--though they will have been removed from your follower tally.
Tips
- You can navigate to a user's profile in order to block them in a variety of ways, including clicking or tapping their name in your Twitter feed or searching for their name in Twitter's search bar.
- Blocked users will be unable to contact you in any way on Twitter.
Warnings
- If you don't have a protected account, blocking and then unblocking a follower will enable them to follow you again if they choose to do so.
