Reset a Maintenance Warning Light in a Car
Doesn't it drive you mad when you're driving on the road, and all of a sudden a warning light on your dash appears? This article will show you how to manually reset your maintenance light so you could drive your car without having the distraction of a warning light.
Steps
- First, take out your driver's manual and find out whether your vehicle has a fully or semi-computerized system.
- If it is a fully computerized, then you cannot reset it because it has sensors that reset the system. If it is semi-computerized, then find the odometer resetting button (usually located on the dash).
- Hold it down and turn the ignition on and off three times.
- If light is still on, then pump the gas pedal three times while ignition is on and wait. It should turn off in less 10 seconds.
