Run Quietly in the House
Do you sneak around your house at night? Do you want to be able to get around your house without anyone knowing or waking up? Here is how you do it!
Contents
Steps
- Wear the right footwear. If you have only carpet in your house you are going to be barefoot. If you only have tile/hardwood you are going to need socks.
- Bend your foot with each step. Keep your feet in a U shape when running. Do not slam your foot down at all! Something good to do on stairs is to keep close to the wall and go on your toes only.
- Distribute your weight. Keep your feet as close to the ground as possible, but don’t drag your feet. Also, stay close to the wall.
Tips
- Know where all the squeaky areas are and avoid at all costs.
- If you are sneaking and you hear or feel any movement, do not run! Walk quietly back to your room, and once in the room throw yourself in to bed and do not face the door. That way if you are wide awake, they can't tell.
- When going up stairs, go on all fours.
- When going down stairs, get down on your hands and knees, or turn around and go down backwards.
- Avoid going near other people's bedrooms if you can.
Warnings
- Make sure you take a look both down on the floor and up in front of you, so that you don't trip on any Lego (this really hurts!), other toys, and don't walk in to a table, any sharp objects, etc.
- If caught by a younger sibling, a good bribe will always work.
- if caught by a much older sibling, get on your hands and knees and pray for mercy.
- If you are known for sleepwalking and are caught out of your bed, turn around, close your eyes halfway and pretend to be asleep!
