Sell a Car Using YouTube
Looking to sell or buy a used automobile? Why not try selling it through YouTube? YouTube makes a great tool for selling and buying vehicles.
Steps
- Prepare for filming. Set up a YouTube account, and get your hands on the highest quality video recording device available. Connect the video device and upload a test video sample to your PC.
- Film the car. Get the vehicle in a well lit open area void of most visual and audible distractions. Film the vehicle exterior with a full walk around. As you go, verbalize a few great attributes about the vehicle. Demonstrate critical features in operation, and describe the driving experience in your own words.
- Keep the video short without sacrificing valuable content. End your video presentation with a confidence building closing statement.
- Upload your content to a PC and label the file. Do any editing that's needed, particularly to cut out bits of the video that aren't required or are laborious. Make sure the viewer can hear the audio clearly, too.
- Upload it to YouTube. Type the year, make, model and location in the Title Box. Type your contact information in the Description Box. Add some key words in the Tags Box. These words must reflect common search phrases shoppers use.
- Use the video manager link to access simple one click improvement options.
- Use the YouTube video as you advertise. Copy the URL link and include it with all of your ad listings. Share your video link with friends and family on Facebook, too.
Tips
- Shoot the entire video in one take. Pausing creates unnecessary edit work or forces your buyer to watch numerous segments.
- Cater your content to the potential buyer's interest. A rare car may have a slow walk around to provide your buyer time in which to admire and notice unique vehicle attributes. A basic value shopper may be more interested in seeing simple features in operation and gas mileage.
- Include your city/town in the YouTube search tags.
