Use Kool Aid Creatively

Kool Aid as a drink does a fine job of quenching thirst in a tasty way. But Kool Aid can do way more than turn itself into a drink––try the many fun and curious activities suggested here to add a little more sparkle to your daily life.

Steps

  1. Clean your dishwasher. Lemonade Kool Aid can be used as more than a tangy drink––it can also be put to a second use as a dishwasher cleaner. The citric acid content in it will remove iron stains and lime build-up from inside a dishwasher, leaving it nice and clean for the next round of washes.
  2. Dye your hair. If you'd like to experiment with a different hair color but don't want to make a long-term commitment or use harsh chemicals, there are some "home remedies" that do the trick. This article will show you to dye your hair with Kool-Aid drink mix powder. The color will last several washings, and your hair will even smell a bit like the flavor used (temporarily).

  10. Keep the Kool Aid packages and make a Kool Aid purse. They're a little different and a great way to reuse your waste instead of throwing it away.

Tips

  • Kool Aid can be used to color your wall paints. Use water-based latex paint and add any flavor of unsweetened Kool Aid to change the color. Unsweetened Kool Aid can also be mixed straight into water and used as watercolor paints. But only for those old enough not to spill it anywhere as it stains dreadfully!
