Wake Up for Class

If you find it difficult to wake up in time for class and feel tired and slow in the morning you are not alone! Many teenagers have the sleeping troubles like needing long study hours and go to sleep late or you stayed up way too late watching TV again. Either way you need help getting enough sleep and getting up on time.

Steps

  1. Physical activity will release endorphins which will help you sleep better.
  2. Your last meal should be at least 4 hours before bed. Don't eat a large meal or one that is greasy. It will take longer to digest.
  3. Take a warm shower before bed to give some extra time in the morning.
  4. Buy an alarm clock with a snooze function. Set it to the appropriate time.
  5. Calculate at what time do you need to wake up to get ready and get to school on time. Set your alarm twenty minutes earlier- you will find this extra time buffer really helps. Go to bed 8 hours before to get enough sleep. Make it a habit to wake up at this time everyday.
  6. Eat a quick, nutritious breakfast. Don't fall into the pop tart trap. They are not very good for you. If you have to, make it the night before and plastic bag it if for on the go.
  7. Wash your face with a quick routine including cleansing, toning and moisturizing. Make sure to brush and floss your teeth. Also, wash your face with cold water, in order to get rid of the sleepiness in the morning.
  8. At desperate measures put your alarm clock across the room, and then you have to get up to turn it off.
  9. Instead of setting your alarm to that annoying beeping sound, if you have the setting of music or radio, put it on that, because then you actually want to get up to listen to it.

Tips

  • Be prepared. Pack away your supplies and textbooks in your school bag and lay out your outfit for the next day before you go to bed.
