Watch Shared Videos from a Computer on an iPad
The iTunes Home Sharing feature allows you to watch videos on your iPad over a Wi-Fi. Simply connect your computer and your iPad to the same network, enable Home Sharing and you’re good to go.
Steps
- Start by making sure that your iPad is connected to the same network as your computer. Now launch iTunes on your computer.
- Go to the iTunes preferences pane on your computer by clicking Preferences on the iTunes menu (Mac) or the Edit menu (PC). Click the Sharing tab and check the Share my library on my local network box.
- Tap the Videos icon on your iPad’s Home screen to launch the Videos app.
- Tap the Shared tab at the top of the screen and tap the iTunes Library you want to connect from the list that appears.
- Videos from your iTunes library will now appear. Tap the title of the video you want to watch to start it playing.
Tips
- In iTunes preferences you can set the type of content that is shared from your iTunes library with Home Sharing.
- You can browse different video types including movies, TV shows and music videos when accessing your iTunes library on your iPad.
Warnings
- If you have a large iTunes library or a slow Wi-Fi connection your videos may take a little while to load on your iPad.
