Wear a Total Black and White Outfit

Sure, it's black and white. It sounds simple, but to make it look like a cohesive, well-thought out outfit, what do you do? You relax, that's what, because wikiHow is here! Keep reading to knock the socks off your colorblind friends. Or, you know, rock that theme party. Whichever.

Steps

  1. Straighten your hair and put it in a plain white or black headband, depending on the color of your hair. People with dark hair should use a white headband and people with light hair should use a black headband.
  2. Put in plain white or black stud earrings, depending on which headband you use.
  3. Put on bright white eyeshadow and clear lip gloss, then add black mascara and black eyeliner.
  4. Put on a white or black top.
  5. Put on a black or white skirt or pants - the key is contrast! If your top is white, wear black on the bottom. If your top is black, wear white on the bottom.
  6. Put on boots that match the color of the bottoms you chose - either black or white and a jacket that contrasts the top.
  7. Add a white bag with black detail or a black bag with white details and you are ready to go!

Tips

  • Adding accessories that are a bright contrast is a very easy and stylish way to wear a black/white outfit without looking ridiculous. Adding bangles, earrings, a necklace, handbag, or shoes in a color like hot pink, electric blue, or a bright green would really make your outfit memorable instead of looking like everyone else.

Warnings

  • Be careful with patterns. The patterns should be proportional to your size.
  • White calls attention to itself, whereas black does the opposite. This means that if you are uncomfortable with your big hips, DON'T wear white pants, or if you hate your belly, wear a black top.
  • If you have a short torso, use SAME color on the top and on the bottom, to make your figure seem longer. If you use white on top, and black on the bottom it will show too much when the torso ends and the legs begin.
  • Pencil type of skirts show best long legs.
