Add Your Personal Style to a Miniskirt

Are you getting tired of wearing simply just a blue miniskirt? Well, here's how to make your every day look into something that screams: YOU!

Steps

  1. Get your miniskirt. Determine what features it has (like back pockets, torn, or faded).
  2. Grab your materials.
    • Fabric Scissors
    • Swatches of fabric
    • Iron on patches
    • Buttons
    • Sewing machine
    • fabric paint
    • and anything you want on your skirt
  3. Create a theme. For instance - Should it represent your love of Beyonce's music? Then get gold glitter pens meant for fabric and write "bootylicious" in the back of the skirt. Be creative! It always helps when you make your skirt show what you love - whether it be a band, a book, an animal, a place...
  4. Assemble your new personalized miniskirt! Voila!

Tips

  • badges, pins, ribbons, laces, etc are great items to help personalize your miniskirt.
  • If you're not the "creative" type, then just layer a light, long skirt under your miniskirt.
  • If you have a T shirt with a decoration that you like, but are never going to wear the shirt, cut out the design and stitch it onto your skirt. (this is also a great way to keep your lucky T with you even when you outgrow it.)

Warnings

  • Fabric paint can have a plastic look to it if you use excess.. it also feels bad if overused.
  • Do not use a sewing machine unless you know how to operate it.
  • Check with your parents (if you are still young) because they may not approve of you altering (experimenting) on your clothes.
  • If you do not secure all items on they will eventually fall off
