Whip Your Dirtbike

This article will tell you how to whip your dirt bike. It will also help you get more speed in the air.

Steps

  1. Find a jump. You'll want it to be big enough so that you will have time to straighten it out. Make it at least a 23' Jump. Practice turning the wheel in the Air so you get comfortable with it first.
  2. Get into 3rd or 4th gear (on a 125 2 Stroke or 250f).
  3. As you approach the jump, go up at the opposite angle that you want to whip the bike. Stomp on the foot peg of the direction you want to whip.
  4. Lean the bike over and slide to the back of the seat. Start to turn towards the opposite direction.
  5. Lean when in the air. When you go to straighten up, you need to pull the bike up right and get hard on the gas.
  6. Pull the back end in with your legs. Make sure that you land straight.
  7. Turn the front wheel or your handle bars the way you want to whip and kick your leg out to the side your whipping, when it gets side ways take your handle bars and turn them the opposite way they are turned and lean to the opposite side your bike is whipped so you land straight.

Tips

  • Don't think too much into it, or you'll make yourself nervous.
  • If you are on a 250 2 stroke or 450f, you'll need to be in 2nd gear.for an 85 2 stroke, 3rd gear works well.
  • Make the landing soft because you will most probably fall a few times.
  • Add some tricks to it like a nac-nac or a no-hander it you are a good FMX rider like some of us.

Warnings

  • This trick can be done on any size bike, but do not do what you cannot handle. Be safe and smart about what you're doing.
  • Also make sure that you use a bike that you can handle
