Allow Pop–ups
While Internet pop-ups can be annoying, some websites and web-based applications require them to be active. Knowing how to unblock pop-ups will allow you more control over this function in your web browser. The process is a bit different depending upon the browser you use.

Steps
Using Internet Explorer
- Launch Internet Explorer.
- Click the Tools button on the main menu and hover your cursor over the words "Pop-up Blocker" in the drop down menu.
- Select "Pop-Up Blocker Settings" from the slide out menu.
- This will launch the Pop-Up Blocker Settings window.
- Make any necessary changes and click the Close button.
Firefox
- Load the Firefox browser.
- Choose the Options link from the Tools drop down menu.
- This will open the Options window. Click the Content tab in this window. You can uncheck the Block pop-up windows option,or
- Allow specific websites under the Exceptions button.
- After making the changes, click the OK button to close the Options window.
Chrome
- Open the Chrome browser.
- Click the wrench icon button at the right edge of the browser window to allow pop-ups.
- This will open the Options in a separate tab.
- Under Settings, scroll down until you see the Content Settings button in the Privacy area.
- Use the Pop-ups area to designate exception websites or
- To allow pop-ups from all websites.
- Close the Options tab.
Safari
- Launch Safari.
- Choose the gear icon at the right edge of the browser window.
- Look for the "Block Pop-up Windows" option.
- Remove the check mark by clicking on it.
Tips
- Whenever possible, with all browsers other than Safari, you should always choose to allow only specific exceptions to create pop-up windows. Many pop-ups are malicious in nature and your computer could be compromised by another website while you are accessing the pop-up window from an accepted site.
- Safari, as of version 5.0, does not have the capability to block specific websites from popping up windows.
