Steps
- The "scrub" should only be attempted by experienced (A or B) racers. when using this technique make it flow by doing all these steps in one, fluid motion.
- Find a nice, safe table top or single at your local track to practice on.
- When you scrub, the idea is to turn the wheel and lean the bike over as you leave the face of the jump (the front wheel will feel like its washing out...because it is).
- As you leave the face of the jump turn the wheel in the direction of the side you are leaning (if you're leaning left, turn the wheel left, if you're leaning right, turn right).
- After leaving the jump turn the wheel in the opposite direction and get you body central on the bike.
- If you want the bike to lay flatter when you scrub lighten your inside foot on the peg.
Tips
- Don't get frustrated. It takes time.
- Keep at it for as long as possible to perfect it.
Warnings
- Make sure you don't land sideways!
- This is a dangerous trick and should not be attempted without a lot of previous skill on your bike.
- Wear a helmet and pads if you're just learning, and try to make sure that if you crash, your fall won't hit you too hard.
- This technique is pretty hard to learn and should only be attempted by experienced racers. take your time and have fun. i recommend watching some of the "SKILLS" videos to learn more techniques. you can order them from transworldmx.com.
