Cancel an Amazon Prime Free Trial

Steps

Using the Mobile App

  1. Open Amazon. It's the white app with a blue shopping cart icon. Doing so will take you to your Amazon home page if you're logged in.
    • If you aren't logged into Amazon, tap Sign in, enter your email address and password, and tap Sign in.
  2. Tap . This option is in the top-left corner of the screen. Doing so will open a menu of account options.
    • On some Android platforms, may be to the right of the search bar instead.
  3. Tap Prime. It's either near the bottom of this menu (iPhone) or near the top of the menu (Android).
  4. Scroll down and tap Manage Prime Membership. This is near the bottom of the page.
  5. Scroll down and tap Do not continue. You'll see this option near the bottom of the page, directly below the "Prime Payment Settings" section.[1]
  6. Scroll down and tap Continue to Cancel. It's the last button on this page.
  7. Tap End on [expiration date]. This option is near the top of the page. Tapping it will confirm your decision to end your Prime membership.
    • For example, if your free trial ends on April 22nd of 2017, this button would read "End on April 22, 2017".

Using the Desktop Site

  1. Open the Amazon website. If you're already logged in, doing so will open your Amazon home page.
    • If you aren't logged into Amazon, hover the cursor over Account & Lists, click Sign in, enter your email address and password, and click Sign in.
  2. Hover the mouse over Account & Lists. It's in the top-right side of the page. Doing so will prompt a drop-down menu.
  3. Click Your Account. This link is under the "Your Account" heading on the far-right side of the "Account & Lists" drop-down menu.
  4. Click Manage Prime Membership. It's in the middle of the page, beneath the "More Order Actions" heading.
  5. Click Do not continue. This link is on the far middle-left side of the screen below the "Payment History" heading.
  6. Click Continue to Cancel. It's toward the bottom of the page.
  7. Click End on [expiration date]. This option is near the top of the page. Clicking it will confirm your decision to end your Prime membership.
    • For example, if your free trial ends on February 12th of 2017, this button would read "End on February 12, 2017".

Tips

  • You can re-enable your Amazon Prime membership by navigating back to the "Manage Prime Membership" menu and tapping/clicking Continue Membership.
  • If you've transitioned out of the Prime free trial already, you'll tap/click End Membership instead of Do not continue.
