Carry a Small, 120V 5 Amp Freezer in the Back of a Pick Up

Going on a long trip and need to keep your frozen goods frozen? Power inverters provide household current in your vehicle so you can bring a wide variety of electrical products with you.

Steps

  1. Be sure that your alternator in your truck can support the power inverter.
  2. Get a 600 or watt or greater Power Inverter.
  3. Install it in your truck, plug in the freezer.
  4. Buy a bigger inverter than needed for the one appliance. It won't be overloaded and you have room to plug-in additional items.

Tips

  • Bigger inverter use more power and may require heavy gauge supply wire.
  • Even larger units will require that you exchange your vehicles alternator for a heavy-duty replacement.
