Change Your Cover Photo on Facebook

Your Facebook cover photo tells your Facebook friends more about who you are, what you love, and what you value. It is ideal for group pictures, for sharing a beautiful view, or for maximizing a horizontal shot. If you'd like to change your Facebook cover photo, follow these easy steps and you'll have a new photo in less than a minute.

Steps

  1. Log in to Facebook. Type in your username and password.
  2. Click on your profile. You can find it to the top left of your home page.
  3. Hover your mouse over your cover photo.
  4. Click "Change Cover." You can find it to the bottom right of your cover photo. Select one of the following options:
    • Choose from photos. This option will allow you to browse through your Facebook photos and choose the one you want.
    • Change synced photos. This option will allow you to browse through your synced photos to choose the one you want.
    • Upload photo. This option will allow you to upload a photo from your computer. This photo may not be on Facebook yet.
    • Reposition. This option allows you to reposition your current photo.
    • Remove. This option will remove your photo and will leave you with a blank cover page.
  5. Reposition your cover. Drag the cover until it's positioned correctly.
  6. Click "Save Changes."

Tips

  • Cover photos are wider and therefore great for group shots. If you have an amazing picture of you and your family or five close friends that doesn't quite make a good Facebook photo, the cover page is great for this.
  • The cover page is also larger and perfect for showing a beautiful view or landscape.
  • Pick a cover photo that is appropriate for the general public. Remember that all of your friends will have access to your cover photo.
