Change the Language on an iPhone 3G

The iPhone can be a wonderful phone if you know how to correctly use it. If you've ever accidentally set the phone to a different language and can't find your way back, or if you are trying to set it to your native language, read on!

Steps

  1. If your phone is off, turn it on. Push the on/off button on the top left of the phone to turn it on.
  2. Push the home button.
    • If you are new to the iPhone, you should know that the home button automatically brings you to the home screen, no matter what you were doing.
  3. Touch the "Settings" button. This should be a gray button with an image of mechanical gears.
  4. Scroll down to "General." The General button looks exactly the same as the "Settings" button, so this should be no problem to find.
  5. Scroll down to and click on "International."
  6. Touch the first button at the top. This is the "Language" button.
  7. Select your desired language from the list of languages. Press the button in the top tight corner to apply these settings.

Tips

  • There is an online manual to help with any questions or problems.[1]

Warnings

  • As a last resort, call AT&T. They will work on the problem or replace your phone if they are unable to fix it. Do not try to take apart the phone.
