Do a Flatland Tailwhip on a BMX Bike
This is a foot jam tailwhip
Steps
- Start riding at a jogging pace.
- Bring your dominant foot over the frame
- Coast to a comfortable speed, then jam your dominant foot into the space between your forks and your tire.
- This will bring you into a footjam endo.
- Learn that as you are doing an endo to use your non-dominant foot to push the bike to the side as you kick the frame around.
- Know that as the rear wheel is coming around to remove your jammed foot from the fork and place it on the top tube of the frame. This will stop the spin and give you a place to stand while you take your other foot off the tire and place it back on the pedal.
- Ride away.
Tips
- It may help to kick the pedals back to a more horizontal level while you kick the frame around. This makes it easier to place your right foot on at the end of the trick.
- Try to guide the frame around by leaning the handlebars slightly ahead of where the frame is at.
Warnings
- Do not go too fast! If you go too fast, you may end up having one of the handlebars impale your chest causing the breath to be knocked out of you.
Things You'll Need
- Pegs
- Good front and back brakes (Not the coaster type)
- A headset such as a Gyro, Oryg, F-set or other type of headset that makes the handlebars spin freely without getting tangled by the brake cables
