Steps
- This move can either be done over a jump or on flat-land.
- Swing your forward foot back so that you can kick the bike out with your back foot.
- Whip the bike around, the motion is all in the arms.
- Bring your "back" foot up so that the frame can come back under you.
- Bring your "forward" foot to the forward pedal.
- Bring your "back" foot to the back pedal.
- Also if it helps you, you can also plant you feet on the cranks arms.
- You might get it on your first try, but if not keep trying. This is a difficult trick to master.
Tips
- Circular motion with your arms.
- Spot your pedals.
- Keep your legs tucked into your body so you can get your back foot over the top tube.
- Keep your weight over your bars. a key thing to the tailwhip is to stay OVER your bike.
- Commit to it. You can't land this trick without your full effort and commitment.
- Hold your back brake if you have one. This stops the pedals from moving forward,however they can still move backward due to the motion of the free wheel.
Warnings
- Watch out for falling forward
- Wear shin pads, if you miss/slip the pedals it will hurt.
- Wear a helmet.
