Download and Install the iPod and iPhone Drivers in Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8

If you are experiencing problems installing the driver for your iPod/iPhone, or just simply want to charge your iPod without iTunes, then here are a few simple steps to get your iPod/iPhone driver installed.

Steps

  1. Make sure your iPod is unplugged.
  2. Download the CopyTrans Drivers Installer.
  3. Extract the contents of the downloaded file. Right click the downloaded file and click Extract All, then click Extract in the wizard that appears.
  4. Double-click the extracted installation file. In the Windows Explorer window that opens, double click CopyTransDriversInstaller.exe to run it.
  5. Accept the disclaimer. Check the box next to I have read and accept the disclaimer.
  6. Install the drivers for your iPod. Click Automatic install.



Warnings

  • Make sure you are the administrator if you are on Windows XP
  • Make sure iTunes isn't installed, otherwise it will not work.
